With these dolls, Julius is asking that the visitor not just move through the home as nostalgic childhoods memories, but also stop to interact with the toys of his childhood. Each visitor and interaction brings Christian James the artist's fictional crafted child a bit more into reality of existing through recondition. The dolls are cut outs of the cis Homonormative male figures taken from online gay pornography and classical paintings and sculptures. In each source, the male body is projected in its most ideal problematic ideal valued forms, as a strong sexual figure. The dolls can be dressed with iconic gay porn dress cutouts; a Queer Toy for the Queer Fictional Child.
