Digital Photo Series of Julius in drag persona Rice Ganda

A series of Digital Selfies of the artist's drag persona Rice Ganda, taken from a cellphone camera and edited digitally using filters and editing apps from cellphone. This work excavate the act of performing drag through digital social media while re-organizing evolving patterns that echo Filipino Banig Mat Textiles. By digitally weaving the character of Rice Ganda with the botanical landscape of the Philippines, both images are reduced as pure cultural patterns that confronts the digital as tactile indexicality that objectifies its subject.
